Shades of the Coca-Cola 600 at the Lowe's Motors Speedway and David Reutimann's (Camry No 00) first win, young rookie and sensation
Joey Logano (Camry No 20) won his first Sprint Cup race ever at the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 race held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Actually, Logano was off sequence in his pit stop schedule and as he was about to hit pit road for service, the rain stopped the race with less than 30 laps to go.
It was gutsy call by his crew chief Greg Zipadelli to stay on the track as the rain was closing in.
Jeff Gordon (Chevy No 24) who led quite a few laps came in second followed by Kurt Busch (Dodge No 2), David Reutimann (Camry No 00) and Tony Stewart (Chevy No 14).
The race was marred by some ten yellow flags, one of them involving Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Camry No 36) who hit the wall 34 laps into the race.
A major accident triggered by Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) involving six cars took some drivers like Martin Truex (Chevy No 1) who was doing a great race out of the event.
Stewart still leads the championship followed by Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48), Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards (Ford No 99) as the Sprint Cup series heads for the Daytona International Speedway next Saturday evening.
