2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor Limited Road Test

The service and top-tier audio are just two things that were above average, another is the SUV's performance. With a powerful 3.8-liter, 24-valve, SOHC V6 engine producing 215 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque at 3,750 rpm, the Endeavor Limited couples brawn and comfort splendidly. I found the 4-wheel independent suspension to be quite smooth for an SUV, but compliant enough to remind me that I was not in a sports car; therefore I needed to change my driving style.

Along with the beefy engine are some beefy brakes and rims. The Limited model sports power-assisted front ventilated and rear solid discs complemented with ABS and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD). The P235/65 R17 tires on 7-spoke aluminum alloy wheels benefit at-the-limit grip while adding to its slender but muscular SUV figure.

To me, the Endeavor's exterior styling is distinctive and pleasing to the eye. With its aggressively artistic lines and muscular curves, stainless steel exhaust system and tubular roof rails with aero crossbars, it really stands out in the crowded SUV throng. In addition, it adds a little flavor with a completely unique grille and an even more distinguishable badge at center.

The interior is also kind to the senses, sharp, attractive, and is easy to use. Controls and instruments are clear and easy to read, not to mention that in the dark the high-tech blue backlit controls on silver-finish surfaces are pretty stylish.

I found the black leather seats to be a delight for my derrière, with the added benefit of plenty of legroom front and rear. I prefer those in front, however, because in the Endeavor Limited they're heated. Also standard is a 10-position driver's seat with adjustable lumbar support which allowed me to find the ideal seating position when behind the wheel.
