Gillett Everhams's Patrick Carpentier will not take part at Sprint Cup race in Pocono so that he may concentrate on the Nationwide race in Montreal scheduled for the same weekend.

"We know how amazing Patrick is at Montreal and want him to concentrate on winning that race like he almost did last year," said Gillett Evernham Motorsports CEO Tom Reddin.

In his NASCAR debut last year, Carpentier started on pole and finished second in the inaugural Nationwide event at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

Gillett Evernham Motorsports will announce a replacement for Carpentier for the Pocono race at a later date.
